My Priorities
Preparing for Suffolk's Growth
Suffolk is one of the fastest-growing communities in Hampton Roads, and our schools must be prepared to grow with it. As our community grows, we need thoughtful long-term planning that ensures our schools have the capacity, facilities, and resources to meet the needs of today's students and tomorrow's.

Preparing for growth isn't about reacting after classrooms become crowded or facilities begin to age. It means planning ahead using enrollment trends, responsible financial stewardship, and strategic investments that keep pace with our community.

As your School Board representative, I will advocate for:
Â
-
Long-term planning that aligns enrollment projections, school capacity, and capital improvements.
 -
Responsible stewardship of school facilities through proactive maintenance and strategic investments.
 -
Collaboration with City Council to ensure school infrastructure keeps pace with community growth.
 -
Transparent reporting on facility needs, capital projects, and long-range planning.
 -
Decisions that balance today's needs with the long-term success of Suffolk Public Schools.
Â
"I believe planning for tomorrow is one of the greatest responsibilities we have to today's students."
Responsible Leadership & Accountability
The School Board's role is to provide governance, not manage the day-to-day operations of our schools. It requires leaders who can provide fiscal oversight, establish policy, ask thoughtful questions, and make informed decisions that put students first.

Throughout my career, I've managed multimillion-dollar budgets, analyzed complex data, and made decisions with accountability for results. Those experiences taught me the importance of asking thoughtful questions, planning strategically, and being a responsible steward of the resources entrusted to us.

I believe every major decision should be transparent, fiscally responsible, and focused on improving opportunities for students while earning the public's trust.

As your School Board representative, I will advocate for:
Â
-
Transparent budgeting and responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars.
 -
Clear priorities and regular reporting on progress toward district goals..
 -
Policies that strengthen accountability while respecting the roles of the School Board and Superintendent.
 -
Open communication that keeps families informed and engaged.
 -
Decisions that put students first while planning for the future.
Â
"Leadership isn't about having all the answers. It's about asking the right questions, listening carefully, and making informed decisions that serve students and our community."
Â
Community Partnership
Strong schools don't succeed in isolation, they succeed when communities work together.

I believe one of the School Board's most important responsibilities is building trust among families, educators, school leadership, City Council, local businesses, and community organizations.
Â
Every group has a role in helping students succeed, and meaningful progress happens when we listen to one another, communicate openly, and work toward shared goals.

As a School Board member, I will support:
Â
-
Meaningful parent engagement before major decisions are made, not simply after decisions have already been reached.
 -
Strong relationships with teachers and school staff, recognizing that those closest to students provide valuable insight into the challenges facing our schools.
 -
Collaboration with City Council to ensure school planning, facilities, and long-term investments keep pace with Suffolk's growth.
 -
Partnerships with local businesses, higher education, military organizations, and community leaders to expand opportunities for students through career exploration, internships, workforce development, and mentorship.
 -
Transparent communication that keeps our community informed and builds confidence in the work of the School Board.
