Why I’m Running

My passion for education advocacy began during the pandemic. While working from home, I saw firsthand how much individualized attention affected my children's learning, confidence, and success. I also realized that not every family had the time, flexibility, or resources to provide that same level of support at home.

That experience gave me a deeper appreciation for our teachers and reinforced a simple belief: Every student deserves the support and opportunity to succeed.

Today, Suffolk is growing, and our schools face important decisions about facilities, resources, technology, and preparing students for the future. I'm running for School Board because I believe thoughtful leadership, responsible governance, and strong partnerships can help ensure every decision keeps students at the center while preparing Suffolk Public Schools for the years ahead.

My children have attended Suffolk Public Schools, I've watched our neighborhoods grow, and I've seen firsthand how important strong schools are to the families who choose to build their lives here.

As our community continues to grow, Chuckatuck deserves a representative who will listen, lead with integrity, and ensure our community has a strong voice in the decisions shaping Suffolk Public Schools.

Students First Campaign Fellowship

Learn. Lead. Make an Impact.

The Students First Campaign Fellowship is a voluntary, unpaid civic engagement opportunity for local high school students interested in gaining hands-on experience while making a difference in their community.

Fellows can participate in community outreach, communications and social media, campaign events, research and education issues, campaign operations, photography and video, and student leadership.

Students will have opportunities to:

Gain real-world leadership and civic engagement experience
Earn verified civic service hours for eligible campaign activities
Learn how a local campaign works behind the scenes
Develop communication, teamwork, and community engagement skills
Take on leadership opportunities and contribute their own ideas

Program Dates: Now – November 3, 2026

Time Commitment: Approximately 2–5 hours per week, based on availability

Who Can Participate: Local high school students

Cost: None — participation is voluntary and unpaid

Students under 18 must receive parent or guardian permission before participating.
